Problem Based Learning

Problem based learning is similar to project-based learning in that it is an inquiry based method that has students actively engaged in the content. Students are typically presented with some sort of ill structured problem and are tasked with coming up with a solution. There doesn't necessarily have to be a tangible product, there could also be a proposed solution to the problem in a writing or presentation style format.  Problem based learning is a collaborative process and usually entails students working in groups.
